چکیده
Abstract We demonstrate the fabrication of micron-wide tungsten silicide superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors on a silicon substrate using laser lithography. show saturated internal detection efficiencies with wire widths ranging from 0.59 µ m to 1.43 under illumination at 1550 nm. both straight wires, as well meandered structures. Single-photon sensitivity is shown in devices up 4 mm length. Laser-lithographically written allow for fast and easy structuring large areas while maintaining efficiency around 1 m.

Niobium Superconducting Nanowire Single-Photon Detectors
We investigate the performance of superconducting nanowire photon detectors fabricated from ultra-thin Nb. A direct comparison is made between these detectors and similar nanowire detectors fabricated from NbN. We find that Nb detectors are significantly more susceptible than NbN to thermal instability (latching) at high bias. We show that the devices can be stabilized by reducing the input res...

Single-photon-detector arrays can provide unparalleled performance and detailed information in applications that require precise timing and single photon sensitivity. Such arrays have been demonstrated using a number of single-photon-detector technologies, but the high performance of superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs) and the unavoidable overhead of cryogenic cooling make...
متن کاملSuperconducting niobium nanowire single photon detectors
We have fabricated and tested single photon detectors based on a current biased superconducting niobium nanowire patterned into a meander. The detectors are fabricated from high quality, ultra high vacuum sputtered niobium thin films on a sapphire substrate. For detection of single optical photons, we show that the superconductor’s intrinsic kinetic inductance does not limit the reset time of t...

متن کاملSuperconducting nanowire single-photon detectors with non-periodic dielectric multilayers
We present superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SSPDs) on non-periodic dielectric multilayers, which enable us to design a variety of wavelength dependences of optical absorptance by optimizing the dielectric multilayer. By adopting a robust simulation to optimize the dielectric multilayer, we designed three types of SSPDs with target wavelengths of 500 nm, 800 nm, and telecom rang...
